Pup Says It's All Good
Oh California, you are so unlike the rest of the country. For weeks I listened to the news touting this major winter storm or that one buffeting the nation while I relaxed in a t-shirt enjoying record warm temperatures and an early spring. Our apple tree was budding and the daffodils were even blooming. Every creature was happy from the frogs croaking to the birds chirping. Even the dog was really starting to get in the mindset of spring as the gateway to a long warm summer.
Then It happened…winter found us. The daffodils are not so happy about it but the rest of us are taking it ok.
All of a sudden the temperature dropped from the high 60’s to the high 20’s and it started snowing. We got a few inches on Monday but on Tuesday the clouds broke and we enjoyed some brisk sunshine. Alas, things got cloudy again on Wednesday. Now it’s Friday and it has been snowing on and off since the clouds moved back in on Wednesday. We are content to sit inside by the warm fire and watch the snow fall - it is so beautiful and relaxing. The dog however lost no time shifting gears and taking full advantage of the winter weather. She loves the snow!
The weekend before last we celebrated the beautiful weather with some
yummy barbecued steaks with sautéed scallops, asparagus and risotto!!
