Nature in the Forest

So the other day we were having some breakfast when we heard a ruckus in the back.  It seems like a young doe came to say hello to our dog, Xena.  Xena barked and barked!  We had to figure she was telling the doe her life story because the little deer just stood there and listened.  The funniest part was when the deer got bored, turned and bounced away.  Xena looked at us for a moment then turned and bounced away after her just like a deer!

After breakfast, we went on a little walk up our road.  The sky was bright blue, the air was crisp and all you could hear was the occasional breeze rustling the tops of the trees.  What a wonderful way to digest breakfast and get ready for the day.  While walking I noticed that the grasses along the road were shimmering in the sun so I peeked down to take a closer look.   Have you ever seen individual dew drops on a blade of grass??  It is really spectacular, and they were all over.  That is, of course, until Xena came bounding through showing off her newfound deer skills and wanting to play!

Lori spent the afternoon in garden, gathering some yummy green beans, snap peas and arugula.  While she was busy tending to her garden and just enjoying complimenting her plants, some honeybees decided to come visit and say hello.

We capped off the brisk evening with a nice cozy bonfire 💕💞
